Debra Sitzberger, Real Estate and Business Attorney

Debra, six times voted the Best Attorney in Nevada County and recognized for a number of years as one of Nevada County’s outstanding real estate and business attorneys, is licensed in both California and Washington. She is a 1983 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, where she was awarded an editorship at the prestigious University of Washington Law Review. She graduated with honors from Western Washington University prior to that.

She was admitted to the Washington Bar in 1983

While in Seattle, Debra worked for a prominent general business/real estate law firm before becoming Vice President, General Counsel, Designated Broker, and Interim Director of Human Resources for a multi-million dollar real estate development and management company. She handled all corporate, real estate, land-use, risk management, and insurance matters including airplane leasing and counseling a charitable foundation. She procured multi-million dollar settlements on behalf of the company.

She also served as house counsel and designated real estate broker for various corporations, including an escrow company, gaining extensive experience in general corporate, business, trademark, and real estate law.

After moving to Northern California Debra became a member of the California bar in 2003. She was elected by other attorneys to be the President of the Nevada County Bar Association, and served as an Officer and Board Member for over 5 years.

She has made her considerable talents available to the residents and businesses of the foothills, in a variety of business and real estate matters. In addition to her private practice, she is a frequent speaker on the latest developments with short sales, loan modification, deeds in lieu foreclosure and real estate financing problems. She represents individuals needing assistance in these areas, as well as other debt solutions in addition to her other areas of practice.

Debra is a lover of animals, particularly dogs, and the outdoors. She enjoys hiking, boating, and gardening. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Hospice of the Foothills.
